Basic rules for choosing a trench formwork system
The pressure depends on the composition of the soil:
- Rocky soil — excavation with minimal pressure on the walls.
- Quicksand — maximum pressure.
- Normal soils — average pressure
To strengthen the excavation at an object with additional loads, it is necessary to carry out an individual calculation.
Installation of a trench formwork system
In stable soils, the support system can be installed by fixing in the finished recess. Thanks to simple connections, this operation is performed very quickly. Then the assembled supports are lowered into the finished recess - and this is the end of the installation. After the excavation is filled in, the supports are lifted and used further on another section of the trench.
In unstable loose soils and quicksand, support systems are installed by alternately pressing on the walls - the so-called crushing method with simultaneous lifting of the soil.
